Review: MAC Coral Bliss Lipstick

By Unknown - 10:00

Surprise Tuesday blog post, ooooh! I know I don't usually post on a Tuesday, but I wasn't sure that this would be substantial enough for a Friday blog post. So here's a little bonus nugget for you.

On Tuesday last week (April 2015), I decided that I wanted to treat myself to a new lipstick that I could wear on a day-to-day throughout the rest of spring and the entirety of summer. I wanted somehing that I could also wear out and to barbecues and parties so I could get my money out of it.

MAC Coral Bliss in the box
As I was intending to wear it so often, I decided to treat myself and get a more expensive brand so that it doesn't dry out my lips with the amount I'm wearing it (as I tend to find some lipsticks quite drying). My first place to look was MAC as I have a lipstick from that brand already and I really love it, so I had a look through the fair and light pink shades online and found out some that I liked. Then on Friday I decided to go into my local town, visit the MAC stall and try some of them out.

The lipstick out of the box with the lid on
Out of the ones I tried, I absolutely fell in love with this one. It may not have been my top one out of the ones I found online but when I put it on I think it looks lovely and really matches my skin tone and the purposes I intend to use it for. The picture on the MAC website does really not do this lipstick justice, and it really needs to be seen in person to be appreciated.

Coral Bliss is mainly a coral-ish colour (wow, well naaaaah) with slightly pink undertones. In the stick, it is a very bright orangey pink, but when you put it on, despite it still being quite pigmented, it is more of a subtle tone and doesn't look stupidly bright. On my pale complexion, it stands out fairly substantially without too much application, but this can also be achieved on oher skin tones with more applications of the product. I truly believe that it is a really adaptable colour and will go really nice with all skin tones and a number of different make up combinations, so I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I mean, MAC is a high end brand for make-up so their products are on the pricey side, but I would highly recommend their lipsticks if you want something that will stay put for a long time, won't dry out your lips, and are just generally good lipsticks (need I mention that they smell nice too). The lipstick is £15.50 and can be purchased either online at the MAC website or at a MAC stall in department stores.

I hope you enjoyed that little blog post nugget this Tuesday (or whenever you're reading it). This blog post is by no means sponsored by MAC and I purchased the lipstick myself, I just thought it would be a great thing to blog about because it is just such a good product and I thought you may want to hear about it. I know brands such as MAC are very expensive and can be a little nerve wracking to branch out into to start with if you don't know where to start, so maybe this will help if you've been thinking about it but needed a little guidance. See you Friday.
